The Brother is quite compact and yet has all that is needed in the ink league: Brother MFC-J5520DW scanning, faxing, printing, wireless, 4 cartridges (bk + 3x color - only by 3 + 2 color still to top), AirPrint (who knows, will never do without it again), Duplexprint: The front touch screen is great and the initial setup really easy. The operation of the multi-function printer is thus extremely easy and pleasant. A real treat is the installation of cartridges from the front (which one can order at the printer order quietly, because it comes only with savings cartridges, which serve only to be able to briefly test the printing function, since almost not filled). The prints are good. Photos, however, I would, if I want to have good, with a real photo printer (such as Canon Sephy) print. The "normal" all-in-one printers bring here not really good result - but that is not the core task of these devices.

Only the fact that the Brother MFC-J5520DW does not have a LAN on board qualifies it for private individuals rather than for the office. However, the purchase price - measured in terms of scale and performance - is also quite moderate, so that this model of LAN connection was not allowed by Brother. For this purpose, then just to the larger model MFC-J880DW must be seized. One more word about the piano finish. Yes, it looks pretty nice that this is only sparingly available at the edges. Fears that the printer, if it would be paved with flat it would then no longer look appealing, I can refute. We have the Canon Pixma MX515 (also an all-in-one ink splatter with LAN connection) for 3 years, which comes along all over in glossy optics. In the harsh everyday pressure I do not have the impression that he is suffering excessively.
